Laily has a degree in education as well as a degree in Accounting. She spent some early years as an accountant but soon found her true love and abilities were in sales, and for the last 3 years in New Mexico she sold homes, enjoyed what she was doing, and was very successful. Laily began her real estate career on Amelia Island in 2001. Since then, Laily has sold more than $90 million dollars of closed real estate transactions with particular emphasis on luxury property on Amelia Island Plantation, Summer Beach and Historic American Beach. Laily has consistently ranked among a handful of Amelia Island's top-producing realtors and has won numerous awards including:
2001 - Amelia Island & Nassau County Association Rookie of the Year.
2002 - Coldwell Banker Jasinsky and Associates Top Lister and #2 Sales Agent and membership in Coldwell Banker Diamond Society (Top 20% of Agents Internationally).

2008 - Opened Amelia Best Realty with husband David.
David Schlegel is a highest honors Summa Cum Laude graduate of the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and a Certified Public Accountant. David's corporate career includes CFO, COO and CEO roles for several technology related companies. Upon the sale of his own technology company to an international public company, David left the corporate world and relocated with Laily to Amelia Island. Since then, David has focused on Community and Civic activities including being President of the local Kiwanis Club, Treasurer of the Nassau County Council on Aging, Vice President of Sea Dunes Condo Association, and Director of the Plantation Advisory Group. David has served as the President of the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America. David has been a keen student and analyst of the Amelia Island real estate market as he has helped Laily build her real estate practice. David is a licensed Real Estate Broker in Florida and Georgia and has also passed the Series 7 Securities licensing examination. David is an E-Pro certified real estate broker.
